Forum Title: Prednisone for My Pup - Advice Needed!

Hi everyone! I just wanted to reach out because Im a bit confused about the prednisone my vet prescribed for my dog, Max. Hes been scratching like crazy and seems really uncomfortable. The vet said it's due to allergies but didn't explain much beyond that. Does anyone have experience with this? Also, how do we manage getting it from Canada since our local pharmacy ran out of stock?

Hi PuppyLover84! It sounds like Max is going through a tough time. Prednisone is an anti-inflammatory medication that can help with allergies in dogs, but it's important to use it carefully. Typically, its given for short-term relief because long-term use can have some side effects.

Hey PuppyLover84! I can help with the part about getting prednisone from Canada. You need to ensure that you're ordering it legally and safely. Make sure the pharmacy is registered and follows Canadian regulations for veterinary medications. It's also important to get a prescription from your vet, which will make the process smoother.

Thanks VetDoc123 and CanadianPharmaHelp! That's really helpful. Max is a bit scared of vets, so I need to be extra careful with the dosage and side effects. How do we manage these? Also, any tips on making sure he takes it without fussing too much?

Absolutely! For dosing and side effects, make sure you follow your vets instructions to the letter. Common side effects can include increased thirst, hunger, and urination. It's important to monitor these behaviors closely.

As for getting Max to take it, try hiding it in a small piece of his favorite treat. If he still resists, you might need to give it directly from your hand or use a pill popper. Be patient and gentle; consistency is key!

To PuppyLover84, Id recommend checking with a reputable online pharmacy like MedsCanada. They require prescriptions and often have great customer service to guide you through the process of ordering prednisone for your dog.

Also, don't forget to ask about shipping times and costs before placing an order. It's best to ensure that the medication arrives on time so Max doesnt go without his relief.
